Virtual Midwife

Do you ever have that 'silly question' you don't want to bother your midwife with? Or something you'd like to explore that doesn't require a full appointment? Ideas you want to bounce off someone impartial?

Introducing the Virtual Midwife service - a mini midwife in your pocket!

I'll be available on Whatsapp (via text message or voicenote) about anything that's been on your mind, both in the antenatal and postnatal period.

How does it work?

How much is it, and what do I get?

It is £60 per month, and there is no limit to how much you can contact me. If you decide you also need an in person antenatal appointment after booking you get a 10% discount on the appointment.

What are your contact hours?

My core hours will be between 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. However, if I get a moment outside of these hours I will reply!

When can I expect a response?

I aim to respond within the hour ideally, but if I am with another client in an appointment, driving etc. it may take longer.

Can I subscribe as a dad / partner?

As a non-gestational parent you absolutely can, but bear in mind that my answers might be more theoretical and general, as you may not know the mother/birthing parent's medical history or all of the up to date knowledge on their pregnancy. I'd recommend a group chat with both of you.

Can I call you?

No, this is just a text message/voice note service. If you want a longer amount of time exclusive to you consider booking an antenatal appointment or my full antenatal package.

When can I book?

Any time, from when you find out you are pregnant up until 2 weeks postnatal! So if you want my services postnatally, I recommend booking when baby is born to be able to fully utilise my services postnatally, otherwise you may find that a private health visitor is better suited to your purposes.

Do you do virtual birth support?

In short, no, not in the sense that I will be on-call and available throughout your birth. I will still be contactable in my usual hours if you give birth during your subscription. If you need someone available for support throughout your whole birth, I recommend finding a virtual or in person doula.
